Staff and Vestry

The Reverend Brent Alan Melton, Rector

My family and I were called to Richmond, Virginia in August 2013. My wife, Kathryn, and I are natives of North Carolina. I was born and raised in Wilmington and Kathryn in Charlotte.  We met when we were both former teachers in Wilmington, NC in 2001.

I attended Sewanee’s School of Theology in Tennessee for seminary and received my Masters in Divinity in May 2005.  My first position was an assistant minister at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, while Kathryn practiced law.  In December 2007 I was called to serve as rector of Christ Church in Elizabeth City, where I served for five and half years.

I continue to value education on both sides of the desk in order to serve God the best way possible. We enjoy being active members in both our church and our community. In spare time we enjoy spending time with our boys Harrison (7) and John David (4), outdoors swinging a golf club, kicking a ball, visiting the mountains to ski and bike and the beach. I believe in an “open-door” policy as a minister and think communication is the key in all relationships, especially in the church. We hope you will visit us at All Saints Church for Sunday worship (8 am or 10:30 am) or any time during the week. Blessings!

In Christ’s Name, Brent +

The Rev. Brent Melton, Rector

The Vestry serves as our parish council, on which each Vestry member is an elected representative of the parish. Vestry members are elected for three-year terms. The terms are staggered, so each year we elect new Vestry members to make up one-third of the council.
